Vice President Product Development

MRG is currently seeking a Vice President of Product Development to lead the creation of our product strategy, drive product enhancements and innovation and continue our tradition of creating assessments that are among the best in the Talent Management marketplace.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Leading the organization’s efforts in a market-driven product development process, this role will be
    responsible for managing the full Product Development process

   • Marketing analysis and idea generation
   • Opportunity analysis and decision
   • Prototype design and testing
   • Interface with key MRG departments including technology, research, customer service, sales
      and education to ensure superior design and execution of products
   • Product launch management
   • Measuring performance of product throughout product lifecycle

2. Identify, develop, lead and retain product development and content team members to successfully
    deliver product and service enhancements.

3. Oversee the translation process to ensure high quality, cost effective translations in a time efficient
    schedule.

4. Evaluate, investigate and monitor competitive landscape and stay up-to-date on the latest
    developments associated with products/functionality and market needs and trends.

5. Perform financial, competitive analysis and create business case justification for new products,
    outsourcing and services.

6. Lead design, project management, and implementation of product enhancement and eventual new
    product initiatives.

7. Work with customers and management to identify and define new business and product features.

8. Develop/monitor specific profit and loss metrics associated with product development.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

   • Passionate about creating products that provide superior value to the customer.

      cross-functional teams.
   • Interface with key MRG departments including technology, research, customer service, sales.
      and education to ensure superior design and execution of products.
   • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with staff, customers and contractors
     -quickly builds credibility.
   • Communicates and listens effectively; ability to manage a variety of constituencies, internal
      and external, accurate and persuasive written and verbal communication skills. Ability to
      translate the voice of the customer into tangible concepts that result in innovative,
      profitable solutions for MRG.
   • Intellectually curious and resourceful; possessing sound judgment and keen discernment.
   • Ability to think strategically, with a willingness/drive to roll up your sleeves and get things done.
   • Excellent business acumen and ability to develop and present financial business cases.
   • Strong project management skills.
   • The ability to inspire and harness the creative ideas of others. Creative, but grounded in
      business principles.
   • Proactive, action-oriented; makes things happen; results focused.

EXPERIENCE

   • At a minimum this position requires a Master's degree in Industrial and Organizational
      Psychology (Ph.D. strongly preferred).
   • 7-10 years experience in Product Development in the Assessment Industry in a commercial
      (not academic) environment
   • 3-5 years leading a product development function.
   • Experience in working with global customers.
   • Demonstrated success in designing, developing and launching product enhancements,
      performing customer research and developing compelling value propositions, and
      working with the sales team to drive new revenue growth.
   • Must be able to provide examples of having taken products from concept to commercialization,
      with positive P&L impact.
